1. How do I initiate a program with Battery Dance Company at my school?
Answer: Contact Jonathan Hollander, Artistic Director, and initiate a dialogue.

2. What kinds of programs does Battery Dance Company offer to schools?
Answer: Battery Dance Company tailors programs for the needs of individual schools. Programs may include any/all of the following elements:
- Dance technique classes in modern or ballet for elementary to advanced levels
- Choreography workshops
- Lecture-demonstrations
- Performances
- Classroom visits by choreographers, composers, dancers, lighting designers, costume designers, arts managers
- School visits to Battery Dance Company studios
- School visits to NYC theaters where Battery Dance Company performs

3. How are Battery Dance Company programs funded?
Answer: Through Department of Education contracts
and corporate or foundation grants.

4. Will Battery Dance Company travel to my school?
Answer: Yes, if transportation funds are available.

5. If a long-term residency is established with Battery Dance Company, will my school be able to work with one individual artist for an extended period of time?
Answer: Yes, Battery Dance Company often assigns a specific teaching artist to develop and implement a residency program.

6. Does Battery Dance Company have a mechanism for monitoring and supervising its teaching artists?
Answer: Jonathan Hollander, Battery Dance Company's Artistic Director, who has been a Fulbright Lecturer, has worked with schools and residencies for nearly twenty-five years, and has been a keynote speaker for the Ford Foundation on arts education, is responsible for on-site monitoring and supervision. Funding permitted, Battery Dance Company also maintains relationships with outside consultants such as Dr. Carol Fineberg who may be brought into the evaluation process.
