Battery Dance Company's first-ever performances were in its lower Manhattan neighborhood, and its "tours" limited to a mile radius from its first loft home on Stone Street in the Financial District.
After 30 years of continuous operation, Battery Dance Company's performances, school programs, and artistic collaborations have taken it to every variety of venue in the United States: from office building atria, outdoor plazas, piers, and parks to the most sophisticated concert halls and stages in New York, Washington, Boston, Houston, Los Angeles and Portland.
In 2008, the Company focuses once again on enlivening its Lower Manhattan home through free outdoor performances in the Downtown Dance Festival, and celebrating the 33rd Anniversary performance season at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
