Battery Dance Company Double Launch at Scandinavia House;
Spring Benefit on Monday, May 20, 2002 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

The Tribeca-based Battery Dance Company hosts a reception and performance at Scandinavia House, 58 Park Avenue, on Monday evening, May 20, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Spring Benefit serves as the launch for Battery's Baltic Tour where it will be the American entry at the Stockholm 750 Festival, and will perform in festivals and concert halls in Norway, Estonia, Poland and Russia. The Company's new website, designed by volunteer professionals from Silicon Alley Cares, will also be launched at the event. The Consuls General of Sweden and Norway serve as Honorary Co-Chairs of the event.

Tickets for the performance by Battery Dance Company, as well as the wine reception and buffet catered by Aquavit are $150, and include a tax-deductible contribution of $80.

Battery's dancers will appear on the stage of the Victor Borge Hall at Scandinavia House in The Solo Project, choreographed by the Company's founder and artistic director Jonathan Hollander. All are prominent figures on the world's stages: Virginie Mécène, Tadej Brdnik and Kevin Predmore have performed with the Martha Graham Dance Company; Mariella Rietschel is a member of the Royal Ballet of Sweden; Adrianna Thompson and Maurizio Nardi have performed internationally with Battery Dance.
